The Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (ISCB) was founded in 1995 with the following aims and objectives:
To promote and advance the cause of multidisciplinary research by providing a common platform for better cooperation and coordination
  1. To develop national consensus among the younger generation to strive for interdisciplinary cooperation.

As we enter the Twelfth year of functioning, we look back with some satisfaction on the way in which the society has grown over the past Eight years. There are currently 600 members, drawn from both academic and industrial settings, with research interests that cover a wide range of scientific and technological research, and located in different parts of the country. Six zonal secretaries coordinate activities at the all-India level. The central secretariat is currently based at Lucknow.

The past eleven National and International conference organized by the ISCB were highly successes. The first and the second national conferences were held at CDRI, on the themes of 'Chemistry, Biology and Health Care' and 'Chemistry, Biology and Herbal Medicine.' The third national conference was hosted by the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal,Karnatka and the fourth was again at CDRI, Lucknow on 'Drug Research Scenario of the 21st Century.' 5th conference was organised at holiday inn Agra. 6th National conference were organise on Structure based Drug design: Search for New drugs in the year 2002 association with Alembic Ltd.Vadodara ,Gujrat

In Year 2003 ISCB has organized 7th National  conference association with Agra University, Agra. The 8th
conference on “ Chemistry Biology Path to Drug Discovery was held on August 30-31 at CDRI, Lucknow.
